About Ayurveda and Its History

Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine, offers a profound understanding of holistic health that has stood the test of time. Its wisdom lies in recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, emphasizing balance as the cornerstone of well-being.

According to Charaka, the physician of King Kanishka,
Ayurveda originated from the creator, Bhrama, who revealed it in its entirety to Prajapathi “Lord of creatures”. It is believed that Prajapathi passed it on to Ashwins, who later passed it to Lord Indira who then passed it on to the mankind. Ayurveda was not confined to treat only human beings, but also was considered as a medicine to treat animals, birds and trees. Ayurvedic treatments and therapies are free from surgical processes also Shalya Tantra.

Tridoshas

Tridoshas

Central to Ayurvedic principles is the concept of doshas—vata, pitta, and kapha—which represent individual body constitutions. By understanding your unique doshic balance, Ayurveda guides personalized lifestyle choices including diet, exercise, and daily routines to maintain equilibrium and prevent illness. As per Ayurveda, the whole philosophy of medicine is compiled in one word “Tridhatu”/“Tridosha”. This refers to the three principles called “Vata” stands for mental, “Pitta” stands for vital, “Kapha” stands for physical. When the expression of Vata, Pitta and Kapha is about the health of man, it is called “Tridhatu”, but when it is about disorders, it is called “Tridoshas”. Disharmony between the mind, the vital and the body or so to say Vata, Pitta and Kapha can be found as a cause of most of the illnesses and diseases. Usually the accumulation of toxic matter, lack of vitality, lack of relaxation in the body.
