About Ayurveda and Its History
Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine, offers a profound understanding of holistic health that has stood the test of time. Its wisdom lies in recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, emphasizing balance as the cornerstone of well-being.
According to Charaka, the physician of King Kanishka,
Ayurveda originated from the
creator, Bhrama, who revealed it in its entirety to Prajapathi “Lord of creatures”. It
is believed that
Prajapathi passed it on to Ashwins, who later passed it to Lord Indira who then passed
it on to the
mankind. Ayurveda was not confined to treat only human beings, but also was considered
as a
medicine to treat animals, birds and trees. Ayurvedic treatments and therapies are free
